Cape Breton University Expands MBA Delivery into Manitoba

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed yesterday between Cape Breton University and Assiniboine Community College will result in the delivery of CBU鈥檚 Master of Business Administration in Community Economic Development at Assiniboine鈥檚 Brandon, Manitoba campus. This marks the sixth Canadian province that CBU delivers its MBA program, with cohorts already in Sydney, Kingston, Toronto, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary and Whitehorse.

CBU鈥檚 MBA in Community Economic Development blends curriculum found in traditional MBA programs with an emphasis on economic development, leadership, change management, and governance.聽 Students can complete the program part-time within two-and-a-half years with face-to-face weekend classes at Assiniboine.

If attendance at an information session held in late June in Brandon is a signal of enrolment then this partnership is already successful. 鈥淭he information session held had great attendance with lots of program interest. There clearly is a strong desire for an MBA program in the area. The MOU signed yesterday is for five years. The first cohort will begin in January 2019.
