听It was announced today, Wednesday, October 30, 2018, that the Cape Breton University CAPERS have won 4 major AUS awards to go along with 12 All Star selections. This is most combined major awards and all stars that the CBU soccer programs has ever won in one single season.
The awards include a third (second consecutive) AUS Coach of the Year award for Men鈥檚 Head Coach, Dean Morley, Women鈥檚 Most Valuable Player Award for Ciera Disipio, Men鈥檚 Most Valuable Player Award for Peter Schaale and the Women鈥檚 Rookie of the Year Award for Erin Freeman.
鈥淲e are thrilled that our student-athletes and our coaching staff are being recognized with major AUS awards and all star selections,鈥 says John Ryan, Director of Athletics, Cape Breton University. 鈥淥ur teams work incredibly hard to be high achieving student athletes both on the field and in the classroom, so to have them honoured this way is especially exciting as we go into AUS weekend with the Championship tournament.鈥

The CAPERS Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 teams will defend their AUS titles this weekend, from November 1 鈥 4, at the CBU campus field during the 2018 Subway AUS Soccer Championships.
