CBU Seeking Off-Campus Housing Availability

With the growing number of students from across Canada and around the world choosing to study at Cape Breton University, the need for off-campus student housing accommodations is increasing. Currently, students are looking for affordable housing options close to the university or on transit routes that are available for the upcoming academic year.
鈥淔or various reasons students choose to live in residence or in our local communities. We are seeing an increase in the number of students seeking off-campus housing, particularly in students from India. Working with the CBUSU, we are trying to get a sense of what the needs are, and what housing is available, so we can match landlords with possible tenants,鈥 says Doug Connors, Residence Manager.
This year, CBU will welcome more than 1400 international students from more than 40 countries. 鈥淲hen students choose to study in Canada, they want to learn about being Canadian, making living in 福利免费在线看 an attractive option. In return, students add vibrancy and bring new perspectives to the communities that surround the university. Often students don鈥檛 know how to navigate our systems prior to arriving here so we assist them as best we can once they arrive,鈥 says Connors.
To help fulfil off campus housing needs, information sessions are being planned for 福利免费在线看 members about listing properties for students, cultural differences, among other topics.
