Engineering a Vibrant Future: Ayat Hussein’s Journey to CBU
With exciting growth opportunities on the horizon at Cape Breton University (CBU), Facilities Management is excited to welcome a new Project Coordinator to their team, Ayat Hussein. Originally from Windsor, Ontario, Ayat is an Engineer-in-Training who looks forward to bringing her expertise and passion for engineering to CBU, while contributing to the University鈥檚 growth and being part of the vibrant 福利免费在线看 on Cape Breton Island.听
Ayat graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in 2017 and a Masters of Civil Engineering in 2020, both from the University of Windsor. Prior to joining the CBU, Ayat worked as a Project Coordinator in commercial construction, equipping her with the necessary skills for this new role. As a Project Coordinator, Ayat is responsible for ensuring process efficiency, realizing strategic goals, and delivering optimal service to clients while enhancing Facilities Management operations.听
Ayat鈥檚 journey to Cape Breton was filled with excitement, not only for her professional opportunities at CBU, but also by the allure of Cape Breton鈥檚 serene lifestyle and strong sense of 福利免费在线看. 鈥淭he recent capital plan of the University adds to the excitement of growth and development,鈥� shares Ayat. As she and her husband settle into their new life in Sydney, Nova Scotia, they have been captivated by the Island鈥檚 welcoming 福利免费在线看 and natural beauty. “The calmness of the Island and the friendliness of everyone around make it very easy to feel at home,” she adds.

The plan includes new space and campus upgrades, both inside and outside of the classroom, with significant renovations to the Canada Games Complex and Marconi Campus, and brand-new builds such as the Cape Breton Medical Campus and the Centre for Discovery and Innovation. Ayat’s contributions to the capital plan will shape the University’s future, supporting its mission for an exceptional educational experience.
