Cape Breton University is pleased to announce that the highly anticipated 8-month online Bachelor of Education program will proceed, with classes beginning in January 2025. This decision follows intensive collaboration with the Province of Nova Scotia and the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission (MPHEC), ensuring all program criteria and logistics align with the MPHEC鈥檚 standards of quality.

The program鈥檚 reinstatement comes after a thorough review and adjustment of admissions requirements to align with MPHEC鈥檚 conditions to approval and provincial regulations. 鈥淲e wish to thank the MPHEC for its guidance as we worked through what we saw as real obstacles to delivering the program,鈥� says Rod Nicholls, Vice President Academic. 鈥淭his decision reflects our deep commitment to innovation and to providing accessible, impactful education.鈥�

CBU has contacted all applicants directly to guide them through the next steps in their journey. Advising for the program will begin when Cape Breton University reopens on January 2, with classes set to begin on January 6.
