Cape Breton University has signed an Articulation Agreement with St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) to offer a CBU Nutrition Transfer Option to Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition degree program.
CBU鈥檚 current course offerings in nutrition, chemistry, biology, microbiology, mathematics, business and social sciences and humanities electives enable students to complete the first two years (60 credits) toward a degree in Human Nutrition. This new collaboration will allow students who meet academic requirements to then be accepted into the third year of study in StFX鈥檚 Human Nutrition Programme, which is accredited by聽Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) and integrates core requirements in food, nutrition and other related areas of study.
鈥淔or Cape Breton students, this agreement will allow them to begin their studies in a smaller university with high levels of faculty attention combined with allowing them to stay at home on the Island, where they can have the close by support of family and friends for the first two years of their studies,鈥 says Dr. Edward Barre, CBU Professor of Human Nutrition.
The articulation agreement will provide students with a strong foundation and the correct training to excel in the in-demand field of human nutrition.
