Hosting the CBVRCE Science Fair reflects CBU鈥檚 commitment to education beyond its own classrooms, encouraging young learners to think critically and creatively about the world around them. Adam Brown, CBU鈥檚 Sustainability Coordinator,听

鈥淲e live in an increasingly complex and technical world. In 2017, Dell Technologies projected that 85 per cent of jobs in 2030 hadn鈥檛 been invented yet. For environmentally, economically and socially sustainable prosperity, we benefit from being life-long learners in science, creativity and problem solving,鈥 says Adam Brown. 鈥淐BU鈥檚 contribution to education in Cape Breton is multiplied when we support learners earlier in their journeys. The fair鈥檚 participants certainly won鈥檛 all become scientists or attend CBU, but we intend for all to benefit from the experience!鈥

In addition to student projects, CBU will welcome partners Let鈥檚 Talk Science, Island WISE, the Verschuren Centre and the School of Science and Technology, who will provide added value through hands-on learning experiences, educational resources and interactions with instructors, student researchers and volunteers.
