Local Physician Accepts Leadership Role at Cape Breton Medical Campus
The Cape Breton Medical Campus (CBMC) will welcome local physician and medical educator, Dr. Stephanie Langley, to the role of Senior Associate Dean. Dr. Langley will provide academic and operational leadership for undergraduate medical education at CBMC and work closely with faculty, health鈥憇ystem partners and 福利免费在线看 stakeholders to support learners and advance CBMC鈥檚 mission. Dr. Langley is set to join the CBMC in January 2026.
The CBMC is the result of a collaboration between Cape Breton University and Dalhousie Medical School, offering students from rural Nova Scotia the opportunity to study medicine at the local Sydney campus, while remaining connected to Dalhousie and its established four-year medical degree.
Cape Breton University President and Vice-Chancellor, David C. Dingwall, welcomes Dr. Langley to the role.

Dr. David Anderson, Dean, Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine, says Dr. Langley鈥檚 experience in rural family practice will enhance the learning environment at CBMC.
鈥淎s a family physician, Dr. Langley has served in diverse clinical settings including office practice, youth health, well鈥憌omen鈥檚 clinics, urgent care, hospitalist services, operating room assists, and unattached patient care,鈥� says Dr. Anderson. 鈥淭hese experiences are well-aligned with the patient and 福利免费在线看 engagement that CBMC students can expect as future family doctors. We welcome Dr. Langley as a leader and mentor to CBMC students.鈥�
Dr. Langley joined the Department of Family Medicine at Dalhousie in 1998, and became undergraduate site director in 2006, and site director of the Cape Breton Family Medicine Residency Program in 2014, a position she held until recently. At Nova Scotia Health, she has served as head of the Department of Family Medicine for the Eastern Zone since 2020, building on her expertise as medical site lead at Northside General Hospital (2014鈥�2019).
Dr. Langley鈥檚 contributions to education and 福利免费在线看 health have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Medical Staff Association Award of Excellence (2023) and the Dalhousie Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching (2022). Dr. Langley says is honoured to join the efforts advance access to medical education in Nova Scotia in this leadership role.

Dr. Langley will assume the role of Senior Associate Dean in the new year, a position currently held by Dr. Jennifer Hall, who will conclude her tenure with the CBMC with Dr. Langley鈥檚 January appointment.
